International snacking
With the introduction of Baji's Indian-style papa-dums, Sudbury,
Mass.-based Passion Foods invites American consumers to enjoy
another culture's healthy snack. "Baji," an endearment
meaning "mother" in Hindi, is what Passion Foods
founder Paul Jaggi called his own mother, whose love of laughter
and cooking inspired her son to create a line of convenient
foods with a global twist. The all-natural, vegetarian papadums,
which resemble potato chips, are made from fava bean flour
and contain no trans fat or cholesterol. Additionally, they
boast twice the protein of other salty snacks and 50 percent
less fat than traditional potato chips. Varieties are Tangy
Cilantro, Traditional Tandoori, Mango Chutney, and Creamy
Yogurt & Dill, and the suggested retail price per four-ounce
bag is $2.99. Visit www.bajispassion.com or call (978) 443-6225
to find out more.
