A Taste of India

Papadums are a crunchy, spicy snack that you might have encountered at an Indian restaurant. If you want to have them at home, you generally buy a thin, flat wafer that has to be toasted or fried to puff up and become crunchy. Now there's a line of papadum snacks ready to eat out of the bag. Baji's papadums are made from potato and fava-bean starches, and have about half the fat of potato chips. They come in tandoori, mango chutney, creamy yogurt and dill and tangy cilantro flavors, all of which are fairly spicy. They're available at Publix, Chamberlin's, Whole Foods and Wild Oats stores.
